Sugarlump - (206) 860-5083 - 2709 E Madison Street, Seattle, WA 98112 - Central District

Me 'N Moms - (206) 781-9449 - 2821B NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107 - Ballard

A maternity consignment shop that also carries gently used baby and children's goods, Me 'N Moms is a solid resource for maternity clothing.  They have gently used clothing from A Pea in the Pod, Motherhood Maternity, Japanese Weekend, In Due Time and Liz Lange among other brands.  There is a considerable selection of maternity tops, pants and dresses at this Ballard store, many priced from $15 - $30 which is great considering the alternative of paying full $120 price at retail for a pair of grey pleated A Pea in the Pod work trousers.  Their baby and children's clothes are also reviewed here separately.

Again and a Gain - (206) 933-2060 - 4832 California Ave SW (between Edmunds St & S Erskine Way), Seattle, WA 98116 - West Seattle

Most baby and children's stores carrying gently used clothing offer a range of maternity clothes for soon to be moms and Again and a Gain in West Seattle is no exception.  You'll find some Old Navy and Gap Maternity tops for a decent bargain and occasionally will stumble across Liz Lange pants or Seven maternity jeans in your size.  For moms in West Seattle, this maternity retail shop offers a breadth of items that will keep you coming back for more.  And with their steals and deals on baby gear and even new BOB strollers, you will almost certainly be tempted to buy for your future bundle.  We review Again and Again for their assortment of baby and children's clothes here

Motherhood Maternity - (206) 624-9494 - 400 Pine St. Seattle, WA 98127 - Downtown Seattle

This chain maternity retailer has enough sales and locations to warrant at least one visit during your pregnancy.  Between coupons and mark-downs you will likely find a few comfy cotton long sleeved maternity tops, tees or tanks, but if you are looking for higher end quality, these clothes don't usually last through your first pregnancy.  The cotton pills after a while, the pants tend to come apart from the seams.  There is a decent selection of trend inspired maternity clothes at Target and enough designers like Liz Lange doing exclusive designs to get cute dresses and skirts without having to waste your money on some of the fashion tops.  Again, for basics like tees and tanks, not bad, but try some of Seattle's great maternity consignment stores for a better value.

Hours: M-SAT 10:00 - 9:30, Sunday 11:00 - 7:00

Bump (Urban Maternity Wear) - (425) 454-BUMP - BELLEVUE SQUARE: 1075 Bellevue Square, Bellevue, WA 98004

This Bellevue maternity boutique for the hip Seattle mom to be makes you almost wish you were pregnant, especially if you spent nine months wearing these gorgeous eclectic styles.  Cool 5 pocket jeans by Juliet Dress and maternity skinny jeans by Maternal America, with many options by Olian.  The prices are reasonable and you can really win with a sale.  Bump also carries fun and sophisticated baby gear and clothing like the Walk With Me baby blanket for those chilly and wet Seattle mornings while you carry baby in your Bjorn or Ergo.  On the lookout for an upscale stroller?  You could buy your Phil&Teds or Bugaboo from Bump.

Old Navy - (425) 957-0341 - 601 Pine St, Seattle, WA 98006

Old Navy's maternity line is great, they have cozy sweats and tracksuit, long sleeved cotton tops, tank tops, tees and leggings.  Buy your items online for the best selection because looking for your dresses, trousers or maternity sweaters in-store is really hit or miss.  Same goes for the Gap.  They really do have a great assortment but you need to order from their website to find the clothing you need in-stock.  Old Navy carries the most adorable mommy and baby matching pajama sets for when you first give birth.  They were also fantastic for robes and comfy outfits to wear in the hospital.

Mimi Maternity - (425) 452-6094 - 2036 Bellevue Sq Bellevue, WA 98004 - Bellevue

This national retail maternity chain has an enormous selection of basics, tees, tanks, long sleeve tops, maternity shorts, skirts, jeans and dresses.  But you won't find anything trendy here and the quality of the clothing is really - wear 4 times and then toss.  It certainly won't last you beyond your pregnancy, which is fine if you are the type to throw out all your maternity clothes 2 months after giving birth.  But there were really cute skirts with maternity bands I had acquired from A Pea in a Pod that I was still wearing at 6 months post birth because they were cute and didn't cut into my belly (still a little on the soft side).  You will not be so tempted with Mimi Maternity.  Also, as with many maternity retail stores, cashiers and store employees will quickly ask you for your personal information to add to their database which they will then share with marketers who will send coupons, offers and other pregnancy targeted mail.  Remember, you can always say no.

Pea in the Pod - (206) 624-8088 - 600 Pine Street Seattle, WA 98101 - Downtown Seattle

This designer maternity chain does make it a cut above the rest and carries a fabulous assortment of designer maternity denim from AG, 7 Jeans, Citizens of Humanity, J Brand, and Paige.  You could also find some celebrity inspired lines.  Nicole Richie did an exclusive line with a Pea in the Pod and now Heidi Klum joins the mommy brigade with her line Lavish.  The best is their constant moving inventory which means more items for sale.  Unfortunately, because pregnancy has its many stages, the sales could be hit or miss for you.  Still, with brands like Ella Moss, Joie, Laundry, Lili Pulitzer, Splendid, Velvet and Vince, you can be the sleek, bad, ultra cool preggers gal you were when you were bunless.

Destination Maternity - (425) 453-7287 - 10300 NE 8th St Bellevue, WA 98004 - Bellevue

Destination Maternity in Bellevue's downtown shopping district has an area for kiddies to play, for hubby to sit and watch the game while you browse on their flat screen tv.  They will give you water or orange juice and you can do your massive maternity shopping spree because this store carries the Pea in the Pod line as well as Motherhood Maternity so you have a nice mix of higher end and totally reasonable basic items like tanks and leggings, both a necessity for most pregnant women.  Destination Maternity does offer a lot of coupons depending on how much you spend so do ask if there are any specials.  It's definitely worth saving as much as you can for these limited wear clothes.
